Limassol hotel occupancy hits 90% in August, matching 2025

Last-minute bookings pushed Limassol’s hotel occupancy to around 90% for August, bringing the market back in line with last year, PASYXE Limassol President Christos Tsanos said. Speaking to CNA, Tsanos said the developments confirm the expectations he set out in late June for a gradual reversal of the negative climate caused by the war in Iran . “The defining feature of this year is last-minute bookings,” he said, adding that this confirms what he said back in late June, and that August is running at the same levels as 2025. Domestic tourism gives a boost Occupancy at hotels in the city and district of Limassol stands at around 90% for August, with the picture improving especially in the week of August 10-17 thanks to bookings from the domestic market. On June 23, the PASYXE Limassol President had expressed optimism about a recovery in tourist traffic following the revision of travel advisories by various countries. He had also estimated that summer occupancy would be higher than initial forecasts, though he cautioned at the time that “three months don’t save an entire year.” Price rises of up to 5% Addressing hotel pricing policy, Tsanos said that in many cases prices were kept close to last year’s levels, with increases not exceeding 5%. He explained that this policy was chosen to support both Cypriot holidaymakers and visitors interested in returning to Limassol.
