Fire damages Kato Paphos restaurant and apartments as residents evacuate overnight

An early morning fire broke out inside a restaurant and residential complex in Kato Paphos, prompting a response from local emergency services and the evacuation of occupants. The Cyprus Fire Service reported that Paphos Fire Station crews were dispatched at 3:26 a.m. following reports of a fire affecting a restaurant mezzanine located within a building containing shops and apartments. The blaze caused damage to the mezzanine area and an interior room used as living quarters. Occupants residing inside the room noticed the outbreak in time and managed to evacuate safely without reported injuries. Firefighters also proactively evacuated residents living in apartments located on the upper floor of the complex as a precaution during extinguishing efforts. Fire crews brought the fire under control by 4:49 a.m. Authorities noted that the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
